The Ark Mission Church

Following Jesus in Liskeard, Cornwall

Welcome!

Welcome to the Ark Mission website. The Ark Mission is a free church based in Liskeard, South East Cornwall. The church started in February 1996 and we celebrate our 25th birthday next year in 2021.

Our main emphasis is in meeting Jesus personally, and having our lives transformed by the power of His Holy Spirit through a real relationship and friendship with Him.

This means moving on from where we are, from mistakes we’ve all made and changing our lives to follow the example of Jesus.
His family is all about loving, encouraging and supporting each other in the ups and downs of life.

Scripture shows that the New Testament Church should also be like a hospital, a place where hurting people can find comfort and healing because of the constant love of God the Father.

Why not join us on our journey?

How we function

We have members' bible study groups throughout the week, to provide support, encouragement and down to earth practical bible teaching. Jesus said ‘go and make disciples.’

There is a voluntary foundational 12 week bible study leading to membership. This clearly lays out what the bible teaches in key areas and what the Mission believes.

We have the option for members to join a small prayer group, meeting at different times on various days.

What we believe

  • God is a Trinity; God the Father loves everyone.
  • God the Son, Jesus Christ is the only One who can save us from our sins, having personally paid the death penalty for each one of us. The finished work of the cross is final and complete.
  • God the Holy Spirit lives within Christians and brings the power and presence of God by which they are empowered to live a new life and continue the ministry of Jesus until He returns in person.
  • The Bible is the recorded Word of God and the final authority in all things; belief, behaviour and doctrine; it is the sure foundation for all Christian teaching within the church of Jesus Christ.
